According to health professionals and dieticians, salmon is an important part of maintaining a balanced diet and lifestyle. It is recommended that a normal person eat farmed salmon two to three times a week to allow for the proper absorption of essential nutrients and vitamins such as the B vitamins which include: Thiamine, Riboflavin, Niacin, B6 and B12 as well as Vitamin D, Zinc, and Potassium.

Farmed salmon is low in saturated fat and rich in DHA Omega-3 fatty acids, about 0.8 g (800 mg) in one serving. DHA Omega-3 fatty acids offer a wide range of health benefits including

  • reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke and hypertension
  • enhancing brain development in children
  • reducing the chance of developing Alzheimer's disease
  • promoting learning and prevent depression
